Is there actually a week dedicated to the concept of financial independence? There certainly is and it takes place annually during the third week of October and is referred to as Achieve Financial Independence Week.

Everyone is looking for a better way to make ends meet and attain financial freedom. The purpose of Achieve Financial Independence Week is to raise awareness about financial strategies so that people from all walks of life can improve their financial situation for a more enjoyable, carefree life.

Regardless of whether you are a kid, a teen, a young adult, an adult raising a family or dedicated to career pursuits or a senior citizen, there are strategies to improve your financial position and attain the level of financial freedom you really want.

Children need to understand money concepts and how to budget. Starting a savings account is a great way for kids to learn about saving and the important of money.

Teens are already on their way to college and are ready to handle their own debit or credit card to give them a greater command over money when it is not in cash form. If parents question their teen’s level of responsibility, prepaid debit cards are an ideal place to start.
